Student Health Insurance

Southern Ontario College provides a comprehensive Health Service and offers a wide range of services for its students. SOC is helping to support you in achieving your personal and academic best at all times.

Students can purchase one years coverage: $560.00; or pay monthly: $65.00.

Benefits:

Hospital charges while an in-patient including services and supplies
Emergency treatment as an out-patient in a hospital
Services of physician
Services of a chiropractor, physiotherapist, chiropodist, osteopath , podiatrist , acupuntirist or naturopath Up to $600 CAD per policy per practitioner
Psychiatric/ Psychological : Out- patient : Up to $1,000 and In-patient : Up to $10,000 for in-patient hospitalization due to psychiatric, psychological, mental or emotional disorders.
X-ray and laboratory services
Rental of essential medical appliance: Crutches, etc.
Non-emergency treatment following the initial emergency medical treatment: up to $3,000 CAD
Eye examination: one visit per 12-month period
Ambulance services: local/sea/mountain rescue
Prescription drugs: up to $10,000 CAD(limit of a 30-day supply) - not available for pre-existing conditions
Emergency dental treatment of up to $5,000 CAD for an accident and up to $600 CAD for emergency pain relief
Burial or cremation at place of death: up to $5,000 CAD (excludes casket)
Prescription glasses/ contact lenses/ hearing aids required as a result of an accident : Up to $200
Accident death and dismemberment : Up to $10,000
