History of SOC
Southern Ontario College (SOC) was established in 1980 with the goal to provide an exceptional educational experience in Canada for international students.
SOC specializes in the highest quality university preparation and placement.
The school opened with a mandate to offer students an environment conducive to learning, celebrate diversity and offer academic excellence. Since that time,
the school's reputation has grown and SOC is now regarded as a first-rate pre-university secondary school. The school is a provincially government-inspected college
which parents trust. SOC is a place where students flourish, achieve, and succeed.
Our caring, qualified staff and the low teacher:student ratio continues to provide students with the optimum academic environment for learning. To this end,
over 90% of SOC's graduates, many with scholarships/bursaries enter prestigious Canadian universities.
SOC is located at 28 Rebecca Street in a beautiful, convenient building located in the heart of downtown Hamilton. Jackson Square, a shopping with every amenity available including
movie theatres, restaurants, main library and shops. The main bus and train stations are also nearby.
The school is comfortable, bright and well decorated. The building contains a full gymnasium, student lounge, multi-media room, 300-seat theatre, free wi-fi and library. The
teachers and staff focus on one thing - preparing students from around the world for academic success. SOC's success as a school is based on responsibility,
accountability and achievement.
